That's why he needs the Gas X.

Lou, what is it like sitting in the stands during these matches? What is the audience saying?
Awesome report Lou. Thank you. Between the Mosconi Cup and your post, I can't wait for DC! (Without my wife lol)
Mitch
He's such a cool cat. Last time I had the pleasure of speaking with him, he was dealing cards in Vegas.
Lou, more stories, please. We want a Day Two report now. You can't leave us hanging.
BTW, was that you I saw in the audience yesterday sitting next to Nick Varner?
Earthquake and Champagne Eddie all dressed up in their Sunday's best.
AzBilliards Gold Star of the Day goes out to who can name the person between the heads of Keith and Eddie.
As usual, an excellent trip report Lou.
Thanks for sharing it with us. I'm very envious of your pool adventures.
Soft, me, never...lol
but sincerely, nice write-up.
You caught the subliminal in there right? He casually mentions a lesson from Varner in his near future.

Last I saw of Lou, he was playing 3 cushion with what's his name and what's his name (Vagabond would know, 2 cool dudes, one of ém's name might start with sjm and the other Cuebuddy - that funny, rather unique sjm guy never stops smiling, all the while the lefty has got quadruple citizenship and won't declare his loyalties). Cuebuddy just holds his cue and shakes his head awaiting the next roll.
I had offered Lou entrance into our game of high stakes 9 ball in our 5 way ring game - rack the 9 on the spot. Lou was fresh outta singles and politely declined. What a fun night. Spectators from the cup were out in force. Pinky and fat Albert were seen tag team sharking 2 Brit's - Lee (non-Brett) and what's his name in the brown tight pants with matching white/blue striped polo.
It's rumored Pinky and fat won close to a million $$.
Took a $21 cab ride back to the Mirage, cabbie was surely a M Cup undercover. Once there, I was unceremoniously tossed to the penthouse sofa, being (surely) accused of peeling paint between volcano spurts.
Today will errupt into the biggest pool comeback in history. And yeah, for the sake of the children, turn the mic's off. It'll be Custard's last stand and might not be pretty.
BTW... That match w/ Shane/Earl vs Mika/Daz. The hill-hill rack was a chess match. Mika had a bit of nerves on the 7 (arf) and all but handed us a point. When Earl drained that rattling 9 lower right corner, and high karatied his cue - the place went nuts.
15 minute break. I thanked Euro captain Johann outside. I was purportedly witnessed as running around yelling "We got a point! We got freaking point!" Johann, the class act that he is, in his self-proclaimed last captainship - he just smiled and said "ÿou're welcome".
All we need to do is win the next 9 of 11 matches. Against an inferior opponent.I feel bad for Ur-up.
KK9 <-- headed to the medicine cabinet for Gas-X and asspirin
I got them all. Not sweating any of it.
From KK9 -
We all know that's the only way Lou has a chance.
(I SAW him play play 3C last night JB, he didn't make a ball)
Free roll. lol![]()
Stu proved to me 3C players are no different from pool players -- lots of belly aching about how long it's been since he's played and then he rains billiards.

Good one Pinklady. I would have gone to MC too except it conflicted with my week with Efren....
From KK9 again: Lou, dunno if you'd ever met sjm before, but to me - Stu is nothing like anyone could ever imagine than solely sitting behind a keyboard. He's nicer in person than on AZ. And once he gets his gear, his grin gets bigger.
KK8 <-- still missing his tip
i must be missing something - cause Efren was here.
I'm not sure where to start. So I will start at the beginning.
This is my third Mosconi Cup, having made the trek in 2003 and 2007 with my wife. This is my first solo trip and I miss her.
And here I is now for the 2013 Mosconi Cup. I left St. Louis at 6am to make the first day's matches and gotta tell you: arriving in LV at 8am, in 41 degree weather, in December, is the nuts. Your plane cruises in, you get your bags right away, breeze through the car rental, and zoom down an The Strip. *No one* is here (relatively speaking.)
Outside the tournament arena I meet and greet a huge number of folks and I know I'm going to forget some and I apologize: akaTrigger gives me a hug and a peck; Mark Griffin blessedly does not, nor does Paul or Greg Sullivan. I do get a hug from Sunny. All the great photogs; Rick S., Dale "Shankshot," and JP Parmenter. Vagabond looking sterling and I mean that literally. Bob Jewett, true to form, has briefcase in hand. Inside the arena all the AZers have instinctively gravitated to the front row: KoolKat and Pinky, EZ Money and Mrs EZ Money, Cuebuddy, Fat Albert. Later on I see George Fels heading towards the arena and say hello. Buddy Hall scoots by and I shake his hand and wish the team well.

Kissing and telling again I see.
It was good to see you!!!
Getting kissed by a pretty girl is always worth a mention, Melinda
