I think the issue he may be having is slow play or lots of jumping around. Sattelite has a very long lag time (distance for a signal to go from your PC to the other server), and in a streaming video you may have hickups if the bit rate is lower edit - I should say not bit rate but more of a frame per second issue lower frame rate would stutter much more on satellite- and/or the error correction can't keep up.

I'm considering getting satellite internet. It's the only thing available other than verizon wireless.
 
ah... well, Verizon wireless "should" be faster and more reliable in bad weather, with more stability of the comany. The issue is that if you read the EULA, they want to really limit what you do with the connection. I read reports of users getting their service yanked for too many downloads. That may never happen to you, but something to be weary about. Check out www.dslreports.com, they have good reviews and posts about many ISPs.
 
Yeah I know all about it. It's called being "FAP'D". It's a "fair access policy" to keep people from hogging all the bandwidth.

Once you reach a specific download amount, they knock you back to dialup speed for 24 hours.
