Local Television Appearence - A long Post

I spent some time, last night, appearing on my local TV network, in Billerica,MA. The show is a half hour long and me and the host had no trouble talking about my life as a pool-player and my endeavor in writing a book for this amount of time. This is the second time I've appeared on my local channel and they want me back on the first show again if I want to come back.

Why am I telling you this? Of course, I'm bragging. No, not really.

I wonder how many of the bigger named players have ever tried to take part in something like this, in their back yards. Believe it or not, I walk around the town I live in and they don't know who I am and I'm willing to bet most of the best players in the game can make the same claim. We need to get more exposure. This is the way all the successful sports stay on top. They have their superstars and they promote them to the hilt.

Wouldn't it be great if one of the contestants on American Idol was a pool player. Or the Bachelor or Bachelorette was a pool-player. I know I'm dreaming but we need something big to draw national attention. How about a State Championship held on the same week-end in all fifty states, men and women. Each winner must be a resident of that state. I'll take the responsibility of organizing and promoting the state of Massachusetts. Any other volunteers? Together we can make a big difference. Individually we'll probably fail.
