I got back rather late last night. But wanted to Thank the staff at Coonies for all their efforts this weekend. Rob's wife and I think he said his sister, went to local businesses and got them to sponsor this event. Part of the money raised was to benefit the local Big Brothers Big Sisters programs.
The tournament was an ABC rated event and had about 64 players in it. First place in the tourney alone was $1400. Not too bad for a $50 entry and they paid down 12 spots. Plus the auction, which I'm not sure what the payout was. But I think Jason Kirkwood sold for the highest at around $325. When I left last night, it was Brian Groce and Jason Kirkwood left on the A/B side and I didn't notice who was left on the C bracket.
I finished in 5/6th after losing to Jason in the finals of the winners side{on the A/B board} and then to Brian Groce in the finals on the loser side.
I suspect one of these 2 won the event, but if someone would let us know, it would be appreciated.
Today they have B/C tourney going, and a 10 ball ring game tourney on the 9 foot Gold Crowns. $100 entry and a 12 player limit. I'm not positive which players will play, I planned to but had to return home. My guess is Jason Kirkwood, Brian Groce, Steve Oaks, Brian Gregg, Jeff Beckley, Evert Snow, and it should be a prttey good tourney. If anyone happens to be close to there, it would be worth the trip to watch.
Thanks again to the staff, they all did a great job.

Gregg won the ring game, don't know if they split the money or not. Was Brian Gregg, Jason Kirkwood, and Jonah Bunch as the top three in the 10 ball ring game.

Jason Kirkwood won the 9ball on saturday. Didn't look to see who got second.

Jason gave me a couple of opportunities, but I failed to use them. I'll be kicking myself for a week or 2. Congrats to Jason, he's a great player, and a pleasure to shoot against. Very polite, and quiet. Shows respect for the other players at all times. At least every time I've seen him play. And you don't find that in very many players who play at that speed.

Always good to see you buddy. It was fun playin snooker with you and Brian Groce. I ain't hit a snooker ball in about 3-4 years before Sat..... Worked out kinda funny with Brian turning in the balls and gettin charged after the comment you made about getting them in his name. LOL... I did give him $3 toward the time.
Congrats to you on the ring game, you're turnin into the ring game king. I'm gonna come down to Indy some time before Vegas this year and make you play me some pool. Banks, 9-ball, 8-ball, and maybe a little one pocket too. I'll play you an all around or something for who buys a few drinks at the State tourney. The number of drinks to be negotiated later.

Hey B - Check your pm's (private messages). This is Matt (used to work in the pool room at Indy Q shop on S Madison). I have sent you a message or two. I wanted to congratulate you on your 3rd title at the Derby - and also on the 10-ball ring game at Logansport. You were always an ambassador of the game - and I always appreciated your attitude when you came in to play some with me. I hope to see you again sometime.

Satman it is always a pleasure playing pool with you everytime I see you. If you notice the 3 that did well, Brian, You and I for the weekend. We were all practicing together on the snooker table. I like how I went up to get the balls to practice and Brian starts playing with me then you. I was done and said you can have the table Brian (Groce) He returns the balls, 10 dollars. Ha Ha. Anyway I's always good to see you guys. Peace.
