Long Straight in Shots

Actually you haven't been paying close enough attention. :grin-square:

CJ says one of the few times he doesn't use TOI is on straight in shots. Seems strange to me that he doesn't use it then, but what do I know?

Just because CJ doesnt do it doesn't mean I don't . If I am close to a rail with the CB I sometimes look at the CB during delivery.
Different strokes for different folks lol

I do Bert's Mighty X drill most every day. I don't mind seeing the long straight in shots one bit.

I would add.... practice will & should give you that confidence to align yourself well & pull the trigger. Try keeping a record mentally of whether you miss left or right. That might uncover an address fault.

Good Luck

Concentrating on stopping the cue ball dead helps some people. If the shot is straight in and you stop the cue ball dead the object ball has to go.

When practicing these, it's usually easy to get in the groove and make them consistently. However in a game it seems difficult to make them when they infrequently come up. There have been many suggestions on this forum on how to increase the consistency but I haven't been as successful as I would like, until now.

When I line up the shot straight in I then re-aim to the right of the pocket and then re-aim to the left of the pocket. Now I'm ready to shoot. This seems to put the aim in perspective and the straight in shot is much more consistent.

I'm not an instructor --- but thought some of you may like to try it.

Lot of time we think it is 100% straight but it is actually not until we bring head down and look
Ensure rolling cue ball at contact
