I played pool at The Break in Independence Missouri back before I came into the military. The owner of the pool hall's name was Rob, I know he was from the PHX area before he came to MO to open his pool hall. I used to spend 5-6 hours a night in his hall before I left MO for the military.

I know there's a bunch of AZer's from Arizona, just wondering if anyone happened to know him. It's not likely that he's on the forums, but I suppose it's possible he's even here and I just don't realize it. I know it would be a lot easier if you had a last name to go off. . .but I'm doing what I can with what I've got. LOL

Just wanted to take a shot in the dark and see if anyone knows him.

Rob moved the Break to Pittsburgh Kansas. It's a nice place and he still runs a New Years day tournament. I played in it this year. As far as I know, he still owns and runs it. I don't remember his last name.
 
WOW, I never expected anyone to actually know him, let alone know where to get ahold of him, I'll have to look up the new break in KS.

Dard, did you play at the break when it was in Independence? If so I probably saw you there, seeing how I was there ALL the time.

Is Rob playing much, or still just running the hall and whatnot? I know when he was in MO he didn't do much playing.

I'm pretty much a tournament player and the few times that I played (at the Break in Independence), it was for a tournament. When I talked to him in January, he was just pretty much just running the joint and not playing much. He didn't play in the tournament. IIRC, he talked like he might be selling the place in the future but not for sure.
 
That sounds about right. He never did play in any of the tournaments he ran when I was around there, 6-7 years ago. He just ran everything.

He was talking about selling it back in Independence before it ended up closing down due to the smoking ban and whatnot, not sure the specifics as I wasn't around town when it ended up closing.

I looked up the place and have the business number and whatnot. Thanks for your help.
