Looking for a Josey

Anyone selling a Josey sneaky pete? Have any thoughts / reviews on them?
I had a Josey not a sneaky, I liked the hit. It was a little stiff. Broke like a champ. I like the feel OK for a stiff cue. I wouldn't mind having a sneaky Josey.

we are soo impressed with keith josey cues playibility,( very little deflection and solid) that we will be carrying them starting this week!!!!;)

Josey

I play with a purpleheart Josey SP, and my brother plays with a Bacote Josey SP and we both love our cues.

Presentation wise, Keith is an immaculate professional. The amount of effort that he puts into his cues in order to ensure that his cues look like a million dollars is very evident, even in his SPs (which are the cheapest cues that he makes, but which still look like a million dollars).

In terms of hit, I didn't fancy the stiffness of his shaft too much (low deflection is right, but I feel this leads to a little bit more squirt) so I use a 314 shaft with it. My brother loves the stiffness and low deflection of Josey's shafts and uses his original shaft with his cue. But we both agree that the hit that his cues produce is very solid, and love playing with his cues.

In addition to the above, he's a real gentleman, and a joy to deal with. Instead of getting one second hand, why don't you get in touch with Keith? His SPs are really affordable and I'm sure you'll be able to work something out.

Keith Josey is a great guy. My first custom cue was from him which I ordered at the 2002 Valley Forge Expo. I sat down with him at the booth for awhile until we were certain of the design that I wanted.

I don't have the cue anymore, but I would recommend getting a cue from him. (see pics) Kind of feel guilty since he still sends me a Christmas card every year... :(

Oh, also....at one time, I also had a cocobolo Sneaky Pete...back then he used a finish that I didn't like which I believed was meant to keep the cost down. I'm not sure what they go for now or if he uses the regular finish for the higher end cues.

Hi there, i have a friend selling his Josey Purpleheart sneaky.

pm me for details. Thanks.

I've got a Josey that I am trying to sell. It's not a sneaky, but not too fancy either. It is a solid ebony nose with inlays in the butt sleeve. It is a great looking and great playing cue. It came with 2 12.75 shafts, and I had keith make another 13m shaft, so it has 3 total shafts. It has an ivory joint. I was gonna post info and pics this weekend. The price is going to be somewhere around $850-$900.

If interested, pm me.

Mike
