Looking for a little advice on these two shafts....

I have two shafts that i am needing to know a value for. But one of them i have a question or two on.
The one i need to only need the value on is an OB Classic shaft with a Kamui medium hard on it. The shaft was a custom turn out of a blank, it has no logo. There is one small sugar mark in the shaft and it has a thin black collar with a 3/8-10 joint.
The second shaft is one i stumbled on in a cue transaction as an extra shaft. This one is a pre cat predator in a 3/8-10 pin. This shaft has a layered tip on it and a solid black collar like a McDermott. The thing that i dont understand is there is a thin black line about in an inch off the joint that wraps all the way around the shaft. There is also a small sugar mark in this shaft as well.
Any help i can get would be greatly appreciated and feel free to respond here with info and anything else, such as questions for more info, via pm.
I tried to post pics but cant figure out how to from my ipad. Can send via email just ask via pm.
Thanks!

I'm fairly sure I saw both of them on ebay. I may have bid on the OB. I'm not sure but I believe that the circle mark on the Predator means that it is a 'second'. Again I'm not sure.

Nope sorry...

Neither have been on ebay....yet....i have bought both local one from a maker and the other from an old timer i talked to at leauge night.

The one with the Black Line is a what Predator codes as a "Second" not what they would sell as their #1 Quality. So they sell them at discounted rates, they play however top notch. The defects are usually due to Blemishes in the color of the wood nothing more.

Black Cat

Conical or Pro Taper on your Break Cue?

Hey guys, I like to play with a pro taper and break with one too so far. I was wondering if anyone has tried breaking with a conical taper after using a pro and felt it added stiffness that provided an advantage for their break..?

:sorry: sorry meant to post this in the main forum, and I was viewing this thread at the same time...

Are you sure the Predator second is a pre-cat? I don't know if they put the cat logo on the seconds due to the space taken up by the black ring.

In either case, the going rate for a name brand LD shaft in good condition is 60-80% of the price of a new shaft. Drop that a bit for the Predator second; raise it a bit if it's a Predator pre-cat due to their increased desirability.

The reason I think that it is a pre cat is because of the way the 314 is wrote in the shaft. It looked identical to the other two pre cats that I have.
