Looking for a rack for a pool hall

I know exactly what you speak of. I usually lift the back end of the rack first, then I move it forward. That usually eliminates the stick-factor. That said, I'm curious how a new Diamond rack performs versus one that's gotten some use.

The rack I used has not had a lot of use, while not new it's on a 7 footer table in a back room that does not get used a lot at all, it maybe has 100 hours of play on the table.

the whole thing with the delta-13 is the material and the very tight tolerances when they are being made. with wood racks you are going to get good ones here and there, but there will be more variance from one to the other even in the same brand.

With Diamond racks, I've noticed the head ball sticking as well a lot of times. I always blame it on the finish, or filth on the rack or the balls. Wood is succeptible to wear, and when the balls are repeatedly pressed into the rack to get them tight, it slowly wears the sides down and negates the initial quality.

The Delta 13 Elite seems to address those issues. The elite model is anodized vs. powder coated or painted like the less expensive model. JohnnyT mentioned some paint/finish issues with the one he had. For a traditional rack (non-template) that won't baffle the newbies and will still rack well (balls and cloth permitting), I recommend the Delta 13 Elite.
