So long story short I didn't have original intentions of buying a 3rd shaft and bought a 2x2 Instroke case. Fast forward a bit and my third shaft is on the way...and I wasn't sure if anyone made something I could strap onto my existing case to hold that third shaft? I'd prefer not to have to buy ANOTHER case now if possible -- but I would like to be able to carry all of my shafts with me as well. Do you guys know if anything like this exists? I've done a bit of searching around the online retailers but haven't really seen anything.

Thanks!

I'm a plumber, so heres my solution. go out and buy a section of 1" pvc tubing from lowes or wherever and get a glue on cap for one end, and a female adapter with plug for the other end. cut it to whatever length you want, glue on the adapters and wahla! Now, get some velcro, or silicone, and attatch it to your case.

if you wanted to you could get a sleeve for the shaft like predators have, but most likely won't need it.

I would leave the 3rd shaft, unused at home and not carry it in a case. In this way, if you ever decide to sell your cue...you'll have a new shaft to go with it! Besides, it will not be exposed to the elements as will your other shafts. I personally have 7 shafts for my cues (3 butts) and I only carry 2 with me!

Don't Build a Contraption

The simple solution which you already have considered is just sell your case. Go get a 3x5 case or a 3x7 case made by Instroke or another case mfr. I have 3 Instroke hard leather cases (1- 3x5, 2- 3x7and 1 Soft Leather 4x8). You'll be much happier in the long run having the right case rather than modifying your case.

The only change I've made to one of my 3x7 cases is I carry a 12" Tony Ryan oak wood cue extension in a black carrying case with straps. It was an option when I ordered the cue extension. The extension case has two straps which I used to strap the case to my brown & black 3x7 Instroke case. The two straps position and hold the extension case very securely to the side of my cue case like a rifle scabbard. The extension case has a zippered top opening and it actually looks very good and doesn't interfere or get in the way in any way whatsoever. The black case matches the black & brown design of my Instroke too.

In the long run, you'll be much happier owning a case that's the right size for your needs. In any event, GL if you come up with something.
