Well, I'm going to give this a shot....
Late eighties thru 92 maybe...Buckhead Billiards, Atlanta, Ga...
I was working the door and my GF at the time was one of the managers there, It was a crappy period of my life(a whole different story, gangsters, drugs, and all that follows).
There was an older gentleman by the name of Noel, a retired/or soon to be retired executive from ATT/Southern Bell....I apologize, I do not remember his last name. He saw that I had a passion for playing, and took me under his wing, and we played together almost daily for years... He taught me a lot about the game...and was always willing to help...both on the table and with my personal life. I've always thought about Noel over the years, and hope that one day I might be able to thank him for the things he had taught me...
I left Georgia in a hurry due to a Judge's order LOL...and lost touch with Noel shortly thereafter...
I believe Noel was from NC originally, and may have moved back there shortly after my leaving the state...
He played with a "loaned" original Balabushka w/inlays :grin-square:....
Anyone know this fellow? I miss him as a mentor, and being middle aged now, and settled down...realize just what an intricate part this man played in my life...He would probably be in his late 80s by now...
