Okay....as promised, here's the rundown on my visit to the Black Boar Industries shop:

Okay....my story's done now. Thanks for listening! :D ;)
Very nicely done!
Thanks for the write up.

Did not notice you mention it but does Tony still have the large drag bike with wheely bars on the tail?
That bike was a beast!

Looking forward to hearing about your cue with the new shafts!

:) :) He sure does. It's sitting just to the right of his inlays "station" with all the little cups of shaped inlay ivory, wood, and stone. I saw that it had "Black Boar" written on the rear fender.

Come to think of it....a boar or boar's head was pretty much the theme of the whole shop. Boar's head lager, etc., etc.

Kinda makes sense!! :)

That BSA bike in the back is pretty wicked, too. You can tell the man takes great pride in EVERYTHING he does.....cues, bikes, smokes, etc.

We must not forget...
VODKA!

Rat,

Can't wait to see your cue in person...hopefully soon! We need to get together and play some now that you're going to be "in" more than "out". Make your way over to Bolling someday if you get a chance.

I've played with a few Black Boars. I've hit more than a couple of times with SueYen (I tortured the spelling) Rhee's Black Boar...and it feels GREAT. I saw the incredibly fancy one that she won in a tournament and Tony made for her in person and the craftsmanship is amazing.

Another gentleman who plays at Champions has a beautiful BB that Tony made for him and he uses it all of the time. These cues are beautiful and play GREAT. I'm surprised I never hear BB cues mentioned that much on here when referencing a great playing cue, because I've never hit with one that I didn't like.

There was also another guy who used to frequent Champions who had a matching set. A super fancy BB cue made maybe 6 or 7 years ago with a matching break cue. Probably (in today's money) $15000 in cues...and the great thing is, he plays with them and maybe still does. Not sure..haven't seen him in some time.

Those cues are a bit rich for my blood....but I don't know anyone who wouldn't be proud to own one! I sure would. The only thing that might go against him ever making me one is around the time I would ask him to fit some Predator 314 blanks to the cue..LOL.

Anyhow, good luck and great write up!! Enjoyed reading it very much.

Thanks, Matt.

yeah....I'm actually happy to do the onesy-twosy trips. Much prefer that over the long haul stuff anyday.

I'm just racking up the frequent flyer miles, too!!! :) :)

I hope to get my Black Boar back sometime soon. A couple/few weeks, I'm thinking.

I'll drop you a line right after the holidays. We can get together, and you can give me another lesson or two!

Later days, bro.

Mark

WEDNESDAY BUMP UP.
