Need a piece at least 1" x 3" x 30". Straight grained, no knots. Don't care about number of growth rings, just looking for whitest color.

Bob, have you thought about using Holly? Hard to find a whiter wood but it is somewhat soft. Check out gilmerwood.com You have guys like Barringer selling it but they are a bit expensive.

Need this for a butt of a cue, 6 alternating pieces of maple and ebony and wish the maple to be pretty white for contrast. For just an inlay the holly would be fine but not for the complete butt. Thanks.
