The OP was asking about wood, not plastic.
My builder doesn't say a word either.
Alot of people sell wood dyed BEFORE cutting anything

hahahaha..... nice knife blocks. I have some that will be available shortly. These of course will be professionally dyed and stabilized. NOT just rubbed on the surface, and not a DIY'er job. I will have sets of 13" and 4.5" long...

Knife blanks do have some of the prettiest figure/dye of any blanks I've seen, wish I could get one big enough for a cue,
Well they have to be sanded and then I can take some pics.... I have 13 / 4.5 inch sets...
if you get any of this big enough for a cue, talk message me

carolina customs made a cue with that exact type of spalted dyed curly maple, and its long gone
My last post gave you the sizes...... 13 inches long and 4.5 inches long....
ALSO and most important. The coloring of the dye will be much darker and rich looking. If you like pastel faded colors then I'm NOT your guy. I have a few segments in spalted maple that are blue and I believe green (segments meaning roughly 4.5 inches long) below is another couple examples.......
