Looking for a little information on this lathe it has craftsman 383-22980 on it.

It has a chuck like a metal lathe but everything else look like a wood lathe. We are not looking to sell it we are going to set it up with a motor and a cart and use it for tip work.

It looks to be built out of cast iron and this little sucker is heavy 50-75lbs. The bore hole is 1? and 12-15? between centers. Any information on this machine will be greatly appreciated

Neat Find

Good luck with the setup; wish I knew something about the history about that lathe.

Did someone , new, recently acquire Uncle Waldos? The last time i was there, about 3 years ago, Jimmy had all kinds of equipment and was doing all the work that was done there. Is Jimmy still there at Uncle Waldos?

Mark, same owners 30 years and I still do all the work just selling off some odds and ends. Stop in if you ever make it back this way. Regards

That is the model number for the chuck only, not the machine itself.

See if there are any other numbers on the body,
Here's some prefix numbers that may help, Craftsman used a lot of different companies for their machines.
