Hey AZB members,

I am going to be in the Fort Myers area the last two weeks of October and thought I might try to hook up with an instructor while down there. I am an APA 7 in both 8 and nine ball. I am well read and have quite a collection of books and video. Your suggestions and comments are welcome and thank you for reading.

Speak with James Oswald (biggame here on the forum), Owner Diamond Billiards in Cape Coral.
239-573-7665

He can hook you up with Mario Cruz or some other Pro in our area.

Action is also to be found here.

Good Luck,

Dom

If you can manage to drive up to Tampa for an afternoon... try and look up Tony Crosby.

What about Ray Martin? Isn't he in that area? He is a forum member here and has a website too.

I believe Ray Martin is in the Bradenton, Sarasota area and is an excellent teacher. Tommy Kennedy also lives near Ft Myers and gives lessons on occasion. PM me your phone number and the best time to call and I will give it to Tommy. BTW Tommy will not play in local tournament or gamble. He feels it is taking advantage.

But Check out Diamonds in Cape Coral just over the bridge from Ft Myers. It is a must see pool hall and voted # 1 by Billiards Digest. Only Place I have ever been where there is a TV in the men's room so you can still watch the game. Sunday 8 ball starts at 1:00 PM sharp and free practice starts at 11:00 AM on Sunday. Miscue in FT Myers has a handicap tournament on Sunday at 2:00PM. I am a BCA 9 and while I have cashed I have never won one of those tournament.

Tommy played a Annual "somewhat" Local $1000.00 added at the Miscue last month...he took second if I remeber correctly.

Both of these two Sunday Tournaments usually draw 20-32 players. Low Doughs $10 and $15 respectively. Yes, and the room is the best, all Diamond Pro/Am 9' and 7' Smart Tables.
Let us know when your in town.

I know and like Tommy, but that doesn't mean I am a close friend of his. I am more friendly with his best friend whom I have known for 20 years. It does surprise me that he doesn't play more tournament in Ft Myers with all the talent there. But Tommy gave up gambling a long time ago and found religion. IMHO Tommy is a very nice guy with time for anyone. I live out in Cow Country and only come to Ft Myers ever so often. The Cow Hunters still ride their Horses to the Bar in my town. The tables in my area teach the value of Playing the roll so to speak. But I am an Agronomist and must live where the work is.

Hi BB,

Yes, Pass my number onto Tommy Kennedy I would like to speak with him. My number is 207 229 4834. I will be getting there Wednesday evening. Does the Miscue still have the old (as I recall) JE Came tables? I have been to Diamond Billiards and loved those tables.
