Looking for Jump Cue Advice...

I can jump about half a ball a foot or so away consistently and accurately (with my regular playing cue). I am interested in being able to jump an entire ball (or more) far closer, as I see it done on videos all the time with jump cues.

In doing some research, it appears that the Stinger is a good jump cue and I was all set to order one. However, I played a gentleman yesterday that has a Stinger, and he mentioned that he has a far cheaper Palmer Jump only cue that works far better.

He carries that and a Predator BK2 for breaking, along with his Bender cue that he plays with.

Clearly, the Stinger is a good product. But if a Palmer jump only can do a better job easier, I am seriously considering that. Since I am NOT a skilled jumper, I'd like the easiest cue to jump with, ALL help making things easier is better :)

I read the other threads about jumping, but most of those were about the skill with some input related to the jump cue.

Thanks for your thoughts.

There is definitely skill involved in jumping...particularly accurately, and even more important when jumping close, or full balls. I have used the Stealth AT-1 Air Jumper, which is a three piece cue, for the past 10 years, and consider it the best (or one of the best) jump cues available. It sells for under a $100.

There are lots of jump cues available. I use a jump cue which my local place has on the wall. I'm guessing it is about $20 value. It has a good hard leather tip and cant jump full ball within 1 foot easily in my hands(low skill). So, I would guess even the $50 jumpers I see would get air with the right tip.

IMHO, the 3 pc is for long jumps like lengthwise in the whole table. I struggle with those and the short cues.

Many of the amazingly jumps you see are shaft only dart stroke. I cannot do this at all, but I think it is my tip.
