Hello everyone I just moved to Chicago (north burbs) from Michigan about 6 months ago, None of my friends here play pool, I was seeing if there's anyone that would be interested in getting together and shooting some. Thanks

Just get on the Edens expressway and head south down to Chris's Billiards on Milwaukee Ave. They have open weekly tournaments. Sundays 2 PM, 8 ball on 7ftr,. 8PM 10 ball on 9ftr, Tuesday 9ball on 7ftr and on Wed 8ball on 9ftr.

The Mark II Lounge and Cary's Lounge are located near the north burbs. Both bars have a Diamond 9 footer. The Mark II also has an 8 footer. Leagues are hosted nightly. You'll find plenty of friendly players there.

If you're on Facebook there are a few fb pool groups in the are you could join: chicago area pool players, Illinois pool players, Wisconsin pool players and northwest Indiana Billiards network. Plenty of players in those who you could hook up with.

Pyramid Sports Bar in Addison. 236 W. Lake St. Addison, IL

Huge place. 16 - 9 foot GC's with Simonis, one diamond barbox, and one valley barbox.

Great food, lots of players, leagues are on mondays and thursday... thursday has 16 teams, every table is in play for league... but stop by and take a gander.... lots of teams always looking for someone... there are more than a few guys that will gamble if that is what you are looking for...

Or you just pay $12 and shoot for as long as you want :) of course, league members can shoot for free anytime :)

I live about 7 miles from Chris' but I'm strictly a basement player, so please pardon my ignorance. When you say "open," shall I assume that means the tournament is open to players of any skill level? If this is the case, what is the skill level of most of the players who play in these tournaments? Is it handicapped? Approximately, what is the fee a player has to pay in order to enter and what is the payout? I wish Chris' had a web site.
