I have been hunting for a Predator Ikon 2-1 (solid ebony with Leather Luxe wrap and black butt cap) for about a couple months now and can't find it anywhere seeing as it is a retired and discontinued cue. I have seen it on a couple websites...monsterbreakbilliards.com, selectbilliards.com, and billiardshowroom.com but they are either not in business anymore or have not updated their website to reflect their current inventory, or just will not respond to my emails. Has anyone seen one out there anywhere and can point me in the right direction? I don't need a shaft, I already have 2 Vantage shafts. Just looking for the butt. I'm not looking for an 8k1, 2k1, or any other series that has a solid black cue. Those are all painted maple and have a white butt cap. the Ikon 2-1 is ebony with a black butt cap. Thanks in advance.

I doubt its ebony but i might be wrong as saw one of the old websites stating stained maple.
I am sure that the very few ebony cue that predator produce are the limited edition roadline 1-3 and a panthera collaboration with jacoby.

But good luck with ur search anyway :)

This is actually not true. Predator has made alot of cues with ebony and not just in the special editions. I believe the 2nd generation Ikon series is ebony starting from the Ikon 2-4 and up. Everything else is just painted maple or "midnight maple" as they call it. For example, the new throne series being released is mainly ebony forearms and sleeves. Best to email predator if you want confirmation. You can kind of see the price difference as well as the ikon 2-4 jumps up in price.

As for your search good luck. Best bet will be a member here or ebay as I have seen them come up from time to time.

Bingo, the 2-1 was not ebony. "Black maple"

Predator has made several cues that are ebony or have ebony in them. Specially in the first Ikon series cues and the Ikon 2 series cues. Those are my favorite line of cues from predator because I really like ebony wood in pool cues and they had a lot of good designs in those series. Specially the ones that had turquoise in them. Also, all the Predator Blak series cues are ebony as well.

I emailed Predator Support this morning and spoke to Mike Lear. He did confirm that the Predator Ikon 2-1 is in fact ebony, not stained maple.

I gave you a link to their website from when the cue was being made and sold, with descriptions of what the cues were made out of. But you would rather go off of Mikes memory of what the cue was made out of...... Which do think would be more accurate? Im betting the sales ad. But you believe whatever you choose. No skin off my nose chief.

Good luck!
