New to the area.

I'm looking for San Diego county 9 foot and bar table tournaments I'm already familiar with OnCue and College billiards.

I've seen Fast Mikie's blog (I like the blog, but the tournament list is outdated).

Particularly looking for Saturday/Sunday tournaments during the day. Retired military so I can get on the bases, VFW etc.

Any help is appreciated older days seemed easier to find places to play just look in the yellow pages.

Thank you

Plenty of league, but not much in the way of posted tournaments.

I went through yelp and called a bunch of places. Does anyone have any advice for finding tournaments in your area?

You mentioned OnCue - not sure if you've seen the monthly 10 ball tournament on the first Saturday of the month. Handicapped (can't recall if it's by ball or games on the wire), $25 buy in and money added usually.

If you're willing to drive, Danny K's in Orange holds 9 ball tournaments every Saturday and Sunday. $15 buy in, games on the wire handicapped, single elimination. If you look at it as paying $15 to play for 6+ hours and they happen to hold a tournament, it's not a bad deal. I'm not taking into account gas costs though. Friendly people and pretty good competition.

For non weekend tournaments...Pacific Cue in Encinitas has a Monday night 9 ball tournament. Ball handicapped, $12 buy in, strictly B players. You said you're retired - not sure if that qualifies you for the Senior Center in Encinitas tournaments. Fast Mikie wrote about the big quarterly events. I think there's some during the week as well.

Thanks for the info.

I'm not against driving if its a good tournament I was just hoping for a San Diego county or even Temecula list.

I came from an area where 80 miles was the closest good tournament hoping to avoid or at least limit those kind of drives.
