i was always told the dumbest question is one that you don't ask
so here goes
i have a bunch of old brunswick house cues added later: TO CONVERT
i'm looking for the softest hitting cue added later: I CAN CONVERT TO TWO PIECE CUE
a few are paduak, very light, very soft wood
is this the choice wood to use to acheive the soft hit i'm after?
what's got me confused is, i have an old double butterfly cue of my dad's from the 1950's, purpleheart butt into mahogany forearm. both harder woods, but this is the softest, sweetest hitting cue i've ever used.
i realize joint and shaft and ferrule and tip all play a part in this too.
i want to duplicate that hit as close as possible
my dad's cue. 21oz.brass pin in shaft. ivory ferrule. joint is not ivory. ELK TIP AND PAD
