Looking for testers for a new pool training app

Hi all,

I’m part of a team that’s been working on a pool training app for the past few years, and we’re finally ready to open it up for testing. We took a new approach to training that gives players a structured and targeted way to practice - and after manually creating over 100,000 drills, we’re looking for feedback from the community to see how it holds up.

Right now, we’re looking for Android users who’d like to help us test out the app. If you’re interested in giving it a try, contact me via private message / comment in here / or send an email to support@cueist.app.

Thanks!

p.s. There are a limited number of testing spots available, so if you'd like to take part, let me know as soon as possible.

Thanks to everyone who has already opted in!

I’ve received a few emails asking about the iOS version, so I just want to let you all know it’s on the way—and hopefully very soon.

If you’d like, you can enter your email on our website, and we’ll notify you as soon as it’s ready. Here’s the link: https://cueist.app/cueist-ios

I like this idea, an app that could suggest drills and provide some training structure from my phone that I always have with me at the pool hall anyway seems like a great idea and a great way to spend solo practice time without doing the same drills over and over.

I'm an iOS user so I signed up to be notified when it's available, definitely interested.

Sounds like a good idea. I do use a couple of books for some of my practice sessions but that’s just not a good option especially when at a pool hall. Kind of dorky.

I’m a dedicated iOS user so I’m willing to give it a try. My email has been entered.

What is your (&/or teams) background in pocket billards? Fargos, leagues, etc…

A little about me: I’ve been playing pool for over 20 years, and my Fargo is just above 650, though I haven’t competed in a while, so it’s probably not 100% accurate.

I’ve always been into practicing, but I could never find a method or tool that really worked for me. So, I started coming up with my own practice routines. They actually worked pretty well, and even though I didn’t have much time to practice (family, work, you know the drill), I started winning some local tournaments.

I did have an idea of what kind of practice would work, but there was no way to do this without some tool - I then had an idea for the app that would solve these issues… and now, here we are.

UPDATE

We’ve now filled all the spots in our testing program, so we’re unable to accept new testers at this time. Thanks to everyone who signed up to help us test the app!

If you missed out but still want to try it out, you can submit your email on our website, and we’ll notify you as soon as the app is live. Here are the links:

I'm a tester and I'll say this app is great. I have a ton of books on pool with drills and everything but usually get bored or give up on the harder drills. This sort of forces me and is geared toward me.

Thanks so much for the great feedback!

We're really happy to hear you're enjoying the app and that it's helping you stay motivated, even with the tougher drills. That’s exactly what we hoped it would do.

If you have any ideas or suggestions while testing, we’d love to hear them. Good luck with your practice, and keep it up!

I am testing the App too, I have not had as much table time as I would like due to an injury last week but I spent about 2 hours at the table with App on Sun day, I really like it, it keeps practice interesting which helps motivate me.

Any idea when the iPhone version will be available? I did send you my email for the iPhone tester.

Thanks for your patience! I can’t give you a specific date just yet, but here’s the plan:
  • Give our testers more time to provide feedback.
  • Fix any issues they find and consider incorporating some of their suggestions.
  • Release the Android version.
  • Wrap up the iOS version, run a quick live test, and then release it.
We’re working hard to make this happen as quickly as possible, and I’ll do my best to keep everyone updated on our progress. Thanks again for your interest and support—it means a lot!

Thanks for your reply
And your approach to getting all the wrinkles out first before you progress I think is a smart one
As they say, you only get one chance to make a first impression
