How about a cigar store Indian, but instead of holding cigars in his hand he's holding your cues?

Ole Kawliga is pretty esspensive these days.

Get a nice piece of wood. Cut a nice design around the outside with a jig saw. With a hole saw, drill holes down the center of the piece. Cut the piece in half and you have 2 cue holders. Screw these to a wall or where ever. You can even line these with a little left over table cloth.

These are the simplest to make. We have them all over the hall. If you need a pic, I can take one later on this week to give you an idea of what I'm talking about as I doubt that I explained it that well.
