Ok here's my thought and was wondering 2 things.. 1) has it been done before and 2) Can it be done?

Ok here goes I want it to be a Total jet black Gaboon Ebony cue with Holly, Gaboon Ebony, Holly Veneers to make the points.

Coming out of the Holly On the tip of the top points and Tip of the bottom point inlay patterns that I created.

Would this be possible? Not sure why not but just curious if it's been done b4. Looking for simple yet elegant as a good Bar room type player.

Or should I make more traditional with the maple Front and Ebony Back?

Just thought a total black cue with like a ghosted point in it would be pretty unique.

Hey Rob,

I can have Mitchell make that cue for you. The general rule is...... If you can dream it, he can build it and by hand! All of his cues are full spliced and made only from top quality woods. Take a look in my signature for pics of exotic wood and cues that are already sold. I highly recommend the hand spliced LD shaft he makes! :wink:

will need to be cored

also, don't really need holly veneers, normal veneers can be bleached to pure white.

think your color choice here will look really good.

Your budget for something like this should probably be around a grand, maybe less
 
Full splice would be a bit of a waste, It's going to need some pretty serious coring.
I would build this cue with inlays only. I've done this type of design before, with veneers only, floating in an unwrapped cue.

Simple, very elegant. Great idea....

I want holly only because I love the way it looks. Plus my inlay design is going to come from the points so I want it to be all the same.

As far as Coring goes is that going to effect the ebony look? feel or anything else? Obvious I know it lightens the cue but I don't want any negative effects.

Also, What is it cored with? BEM?

My next concern is balance point. I hate an unbalanced cue I like it at 18.5 to 19.5. With the wieght of the ebony and the coring will that be s problem? As far as total wieght I like anything in the range of 18.5oz to 19.5oz.

YEs that is sort or what I'm looking to do. I really like Ebony. Don't want to cheap out. SO rather pay the extra rather than staining maple.

And rather than the single point/veneer in that Schmelke cue I want to it it with mulitple Veneers. I think it will be very unique and Suddle with just enough Pop to make it a looker.
