Looks like you are getting your pool movie....

It's probably because Deniro was paid to be a crisis actor and this is his biggest gig....it's honestly one of his best performance.

Not be political but don't judge the message and judge the acting performance. LOL

He was so out of line he almost got his ass beat if it wasn't for the police.

I saw nothing out of line. More power to him.

Is it possible DeNiro has caught the pool bug? Remember the barbershop in "Killers of the Flower Moon"? If one could not catch our disease in that place, ain't no where in this world one can. Think about it.

I remember such places in West Texas back in the '70s. I still dream about them.
I know the guy that sold the producers those old tables. They were actually in storage in Pawhuska and when the movie guys found out they about shit. Jim made a bundle on those old B'wicks. Don't know what happened post filming, hell he might have bought them back. I couldn't care less about BobbyD's politics i just think he's about washed up as an actor. If they try to pitch this flik to young audiences most won't know or give a shit who DeNiro is.

Yep he's not a kid, nor a young man, but NOBODY young plays our game anymore, just look at the crowds at most events. The point is, if he plays in the movie it might get noticed.

I can think of so many who would bring as much attention.

Will Ferrel would be an awesome choice, he is very capable of playing drama.
Bradley Cooper
Daniel Craig
Costner
Benicio Del Toro
Kurt Russel
Downey jr.
Cusack (I would actually love to see this)
Bateman
Kingpin script minus the the rubber hand. Maybe one of them should lose a hand hustling? Many plot turns to take afterwards.

Kingpin and the rubber hand was a spoof on the hustler. Now you want to spoof the spoof right back into the hustler?

My reason for being disgusted is two fold........they're making a movie about the game I love and using DeNiro to play the main part, an actor I cannot stand! The guy is a fu#$ibg tool and probably knows ZERO about the game. I'd kick his A$@ playing one handed!
I wouldn’t be too quick to challenge him in a game, I heard he paid his way through college on what he made playing pool.
Oh wait…
That was everyone else I know!
Never mind

Jenna Ortega is 22 years of age and she had her breakthrough as a teen not too long ago and people want to say they love her work. LOL

I doubt anyone was watching her "breakthrough" movies.

She was a child Disney star.

I'm quite surprise of how many fans there are of her on AZB.

What movie was she good in? I looked up her filmography and I doubt you guys were watching the likes of Scream.
I didn't know who she was. That must mean I'm on the back end of the ride. 😭

These guys on here were following her when she was 17. I just found out who she was too.

She’s 22 and her more notable movies were done years ago.

At least she has youth to play an up and coming pool player. Deniro? Well I already said it.

I hadn't made that obvious parallel. I think the only way out of this is to up the ante. The lead has to lose an arm, eye or a leg and stage a monumental comeback.

Learning to play is good enough. LOL

Yea I think if actors are immersing themselves into roles by drastically changing their appearance then for this role they should at least be able to play some pool. The Superman guy had to train for a year before they started filming. A year's time training how to play would work wonders.

The last time Hollywood put a woman in a pool movie as the lead we got Whoopi Goldberg and that thing was the worst. So be careful for what you wish for. Keep your fingers crossed.

Now when I see a woman in a lead role it starts to feel "forced" and Disneyesque. The last good woman sports lead was Hillary Swank in Million Dollar Baby.

JV
See The Queens Gambit. If you count chess as a sport!

She was great as Wednesday Addams. I'm willing to stay positive to see a pool movie made with these two. It doesn't help pool to trash it before it comes out. Hope it turns out well and helps spur interest in pool.
