Loose grip/worse aim

Hey I recently loosened up my grip and while i get better action out of the cue ball and banks are easier it seems that its throwing my aim off for cuts. Does the loose grip change the action on the cue ball enough that my cut angles are being altered from what they used to be or is it something else?

I had a similar problem when I first learned to losen my grip. I changed 2 things to fix it:
1) I noticed that my stroke wasn't 100% straight, when I had a tighter grip, I was able to "steer" the cue ball to where I wanted. When I losened up, I quit steering, so I missed a lot of shots I used to make. I video'd myself to see what I was doing, and then changed my stance a little to better align myself. That really helped.
2) I ran a lot of stroke-straightness drills for hours on end figuring out how I stroke and where I stroke the cue-ball. It could be that the lose grip is also allowing you hit the CB with un-intended english, thereby throwing the OB off-line.

That's what worked for me, but I'd be curious to see what the instructors say about this.

I don't think relaxing your grip is causing you to miss shots. There is something else going on. As long as you are lining up the cue to the right line, and moving the cue forward in a straight line, the ball is still going to the same place. The more relaxed grip is more about giving you a smooth consistent stroke, and makes it much easier to develop a feel for the speed of the shot. Perhaps you had been conpensating for some cue action that was a result of your tighter grip, and now that you have eliminated that problem, it's no longer necessary to compensate.
