Am I the only one that can play like god then all of the sudden without warning play like garbage.I dont understand it.It happens when i am gambling and I have a huge lead alot also.I go from stringing racks to 2-3 ball runs.I think its all mental but i am not sure how to correct it.

i doubt its just you,

but when i get into a funk and find i cant seem to make more than 2 or 3 balls in a row, i will start playing safe, on a Iffy shot. And then just wait till the table opens up more.

Lacey: You mentioned your problem is when you have a huge lead, How do you perform when you're behind in the set?

If the answer is that you perform well and you're in good concentration, it could mean you lack the "killer instinct". It may be that you're a nice guy and care what people think of you as a person, so you don't want to beat your opponent too badly, thus let up. Or you get bored because you feel that you've already won since you have such a commanding lead (if this enters your mind, g-d help you). Either way, once you let up on your concentration it's really hard to get it back. Remember, your opponent is trying their hardest to win...once you give them hope that they can win, they catch a gear and you may not be able to find yours in time.

Solution: You must play every shot/game as if there is no score or consequences to the outcome. This will allow you to maintain a very consistant level of play no matter the situation.

If the answer to the above question is that you play the same when you're behind as when you're winning, never mind :).
