Lucasi cue?

I have the opportunity to purchase a Lucasi cue that I'm told is over 20 years old. I am incuding a couple pictures of this cue and am asking the group if anyone can give me some information about the model age and an estimate of its worth.

It will be hard

Because, I think, about 10 years ago, Lucasi changed all the model numbers to a new numbering scheme, including older models. I am no expert, by any means, but the cue (from the pictures which weren't great) looks to be in the range from $400-$450.

Duane,

Lucasi Cues only became available for sale for the first time in 1996 (IIRC) so it can not be any older than 10 years.

No idea on the value, you could check with Cue & Case at 1-800-835-7665 as they are the owners of the Lucasi brand (named after the owner of Cue & Case Jim Lucas)

Thanks for the prompt responses to my questions. I apologize for the quality of the pictures. I just snapped quick pics this morning to see if anyone could assist me. Shane, thanks for the phone number of Cue & Case. They were very helpful, but unable to find a catalog showing this exact cue. They did make a guess as to it possibly being made in 1998-1999 with a new value of approximately $300.

Duane,

Glad it worked out.

Thanks Jeff, my son is doing great, almost 8 months old now!

He had more hair than me when he was born!....as for my stroke....I haven't been playing much lately due to lots of work, but plan on picking it up again soon (maybe play some FL tour events)

That cue is about ten years old and the decoration is comprised of decals. Originally it had a retail value of $150-$250 depending on who was selling it. In my shop in Germany I sold the exact same cue under another brand name (purchased from Winsport) for about $120 retail.

I would not pay more than about $50 for the one pictured if it is in impeccable condition.

Interesting to see that Lucasi's have achieved "legendary" status in the last ten years. Good job Jim Lucas of "Lucasi" fame.

John

Well Duane, What have you determined from the information persented??

I sold a bunch of those early Lacasi overlay cues. When they came out with the newer style cues they replaced any cues you had or dent them with the new style. Kind of a recall. My daughter still has one in her game room. They were overlay cues. Butterflycues
