Lucasi Hybrid LH40

Hi i been playing pool for about 5-6 years now but i always played with
the pool hall one piece sticks. I recently made a purchase for a lucasi hybrid LH40. I, having never bought a cue before, is a little nervous about how it would turns out. I am a bit tight on budget but and it was more of an impulse buy and was hoping for a review from someone that has experienced this specific cue. i chose the regular shaft over the slim so i wasnt sure if that was a good choice either. I love pool and really want to get serious so any review or advice is appreciated.!

Heard a lot of positive things about Lucasi, including LH10, which is the same as LH40, just blue-coloured. You can't go wrong with any mid level or high end cue. You'll like it I think. As for not going for the slim shaft... A thicker shaft and a wider tip means that you can't be as accurate with spin as with a smaller one, but you will gain in potting accuracy. Also a smaller diameter shaft may offer less deflection, such is the case with Predator Z over 314.

Lucasi hybrid..

The LH40 is one of the better cues on the "low end". I think it's one of the best.. if not THE best cues out there when it comes to performance for under $300. The technology in the shaft and uni-loc joint combine for performance nearly identical to predator's 314-2 shaft (10 piece pie laminated ), but the Lucasi hybrid shaft ( 8 piece pie laminated )actually gives a little better "feel" in the hit. The main difference is the ferrule and the inside design. They both have "low end mass" ferrule tech., a 15" pro taper, and measure 12.75mm at the tip, but it seems to me that the 314-2 shaft kind of drives a little sharper through the ball. This really should be of no concern though since the most affordable Predator cue costs nearly twice as much as the most affordable Lucasi hybrid and they both offer consistent low deflection performance. There are many other great low deflection tech cues out there ( OB, Tiger, Predator, etc..), but for UNDER $300 the Lucasi Hybrid is the best IMO.

I won a Lucasi Hybrid cue about 6 months ago and that thing played damn good. KInda sorry I sold it, but I had too many cues at the time

thanks for the replies! i gotten my lucasi and it definitely works great! yeah i know its on the lower end of the cues but i didn't want to overdo it being my first cue that i purchased. My accuracy definitely improved a bit since i gotten it and my game also went up a notch. I dont know if its just in my head but i play with a friend everyday at a pool hall and before i got this cue the score would always be close like 11-9 . Ever since i got the lucasi hybrid my score has always at least double his now. I am already looking foward to my next purchase but i do not know which i should buy next a pred-z shaft or perhaps a jump/break cue.(i do not jump or break with my lucasi btw)
