I may be relocating to Luxembourg and I was curious if there's any sort of pool scene there? I was there over the weekend, and played in a place I wasn't too impressed with - loud music, poor table, closed at 1:00 am.

The table I played on had no way to keep score, so I'm guessing straight pool isn't too big there.
 
You mean Luxembourg in Europe?
There is one hell of a Straight Pool player there called Mark Holtz...
He will play you for money :)

OMG luxemburg, flew into the airport there once from NY via Iceland, don't ask but I was on my way to greece! :eek:

I didn't think much to it but I guess there's a good reason to relocate? :D

One good thing mate is that youre pretty central location wise in Europe so it would be pretty easy to play or watch most of the 7 euro tour events. You've also got HOBs club not that far away which has the weert open, a recent 14.1 WC qualifier (BTW Who qualified Maurice?), plus the Amsterdamn, Rotterdamn open etc.

Oops got my dates mixed up, should have remembered as was thinking about going with it being the weekend before next Euro Tour but couldnt get time off :(

theone, if u ever are coming to belgium let me know :)

in luxemburg u can play the ardennen cup. But i think its a invitational tournament. I dont have the link right away, cuz im just quickly checking the forum, but google will tell u all u need to know.

belgium is close to luxemburg, and if u want some open tournaments, pm me and ill give u all the info u need.

Maurice , isnt there a small funny tournament to win places for watching the 14-1. I cant afford the hotel cost etc, but id love to see it. Maybe some small online tournament to win 1trip with expenses could be a good idea... (and u can bet i will do anything to win it :D )
 
Don't worry about pool in Luxemburg. If you're not happy what you find then you can just jump in your car and drive to Germany, France or Belgium 'cause those all are closer than 70 miles from there. And the good part is that most, if not all, the prices like gas, cigarettes, drinks, food etc. are much cheaper in there comapring to other countries around.

Ha!

I'm not looking to gamble, just play. By pool scene, I met getting to know other players, maybe finding a league.

I forgot about Leonardo's - when I found that I on google, I had originally dismissed it because it was outside of the city. Now having visited luxembourg, I realize how meaningless that is.
