MACE B/J VS Predator BK2

I'm fairly new and just curious to get some opinions of these break cues from people who have hit both. Thanks!

The Predator BK doesn't have a joint collar, which I think is very poor design for a break cue. I tried one & it felt like the joint wanted to give up & crack thru.
The Mace (I've never used one) is made by Rick Howard, a long respected cue maker, has a collar to support the joint from lateral stress, and has a long track record.
You're referring to a break cue AND a break/jump cue. Not exactly apples to apples.
If confined to these two cue choices, I'd vote Mace hands down...
But you will hear MANY other good considerations. A lot of it depends on if you are determined to NOT have a specific jump cue.
Jump cues jump. Break cues break. Break/jump cues do both, but almost inevitably, their jumping ability is short-changed in the bargain. Nature of the beast.

Thanks for the reply. I have hit the BK2 and absolutely love it. It completely destroys racks and I can control the cue ball. What else more could you want right? The problem is I have not hit any other true break cues so I have nothing to compare it with. I may have an opportunity to get a MACE at a pretty good price so that's why I chose to compare the two. I'm definately not limited to the two cues so if anyone has any other suggestions for a break cue I am all ears. Thanks!
