Hey Everyone,
Anyone here using the MaxNC CL controller with Mach3 software for their CNC machines AND having any luck? Any insight would be appreciated.

Mach3 software and MaxNC

I'm runing a maxnc with Mach3 software. It took a couple of weeks to get everything running right but I really like it. Getting set up was a real hair puller. It would take pages to tell you everything I did to make it work.
First thing is to go to the website for Mach3 and go to the download section. There is a downloadable manual for Mach3 and Maxnc. Follow those instructions exactly. Its a good start. Its important to understand "pins and ports". Also for setting up your home switches, be sure to pay attention as to which way (- or+) the table moves to the switch.
Start with these things and see how it goes. If you have more problems, let me know. Maybe I can help.
Also, there is a Yahoo discussion group for Maxnc users. Get signed up with that and you'll find lots of interesting goodies there.

I think you need to check the MaxNC box in the Config menu for Ports&Pins.

I use Mach2 as Mach3 was still under development then. If Mach3 still has some bugs that aren't worked out use Mach2. I NEVER had a problem with it.

Some tips for you:
1. Reboot after installation.
2. Download and print-out the manual. If you can, get it book bound.
3. Write down the values you use in your manual next to the config illustrations. Should your OS act up, you can easily reconfigure your set-up without having to wonder which boxes you checked or go calculating all your values again.
