I have a friend making me a burnisher out of brass, and some ferrules out of brass, aluminum, and stainless and a tip ferrule combo out of fiberglass....

I hope it turns out well ill have pics in a couple of days for people that are interested......

> Trust me,you will find out very quickly that ANY metal is worthless as a ferrule material, just too heavy and gives a reverse-Predator effect. On the other hand,it might work on a break/jump cue ferrule, but would have to be really short to keep the weight down. Tommy D.

I'm not 100% sure about this but I think most equipment rules (BCA,APA etc)
specify that the ferrule must be made of a material that will not damage the balls. I'm pretty sure stainless will.

Tommy, you stand to be corrected, sir. Most of the Europen snooker cues, including some snooker cues in Canada,, do in fact have bronze ferrules. They are short, as mentioned, but work very well. Most of these are from 8 to 10 MM.

> You know what? I completely forgot about snooker/carom cues when I posted this response,so yes I have been corrected. It would be kinda hard to disagree with me on metal ferrules for pool cues though,Jim Buss and countless others have found it to be pointless. Tommy D.

This is true i have a Dufferin snooker cue that has a brass ferrule and its a 10mm..... Im going to use it on my J/B and its going to be a 3/8 inch ferrule with phenolic tip......
