Ok guys,I have a problem here.i got my hands on the machinist level and before I did any real searches,I turned those screws and now I'm lost on how to get it calibrated.can anyone steer me in the right direction?thanks.yea yea,I know.what a dumba$$!!

I just bought a Starrett 8" two weeks ago and I'm curious to hear what others have to say. I believe mine was already calibrated when I bought it but not 100% sure. After they leveled my table with their level, I took my level and it shows the table is level.

Just put it on a flat surface, note the reading, then turn the level 180 degrees,,,,,,if it's calibrated it will give the same reading from both directions. If it doesn't read the same, then you can turn the screw to adjust it.

You will have to inspect and you may have to make adjustments if needed to the machinist levels..
Very time consuming when most guys have 8-10-12+ individual levels to keep in-tune.
I have a level or two in the process of cleaning up and fine-tuning, I will keep ya posted on the results'
