Magic trick with a pool table

http://youtu.be/KIXaEbG3rCo

This is my favorite trick. I figured using the pool table to get the random card was the best way for a video. Thanks to the cutest kids ever for being amazing assistants.

Mike Massey does this type of trick. Without knowing how it is done I assume it is an old trick with some added flair on the pool table.

1 don't know how you got away with it, Lux....
...they were keeping an eye on you pretty good.

Kids are great fun to watch, whether they succeed or not. Their emotions are pure honesty.

The Oak Ridge boys sing a song with the words, "the closet thing to heaven is a child".... I really believe that.

The trick is really not very old. Mathieu Bich fooled Penn and Teller on their show about nine years ago in this video clip. Bich does it far smoother than I.

I wanted to share this video to prove that the eight ball could've landed on any card.

It's as old as the hills.
Go to any trick shop and ask for a "rough and smooth" deck. (that's why he handles them so delicately). Learn how to force the card from any magic book.
The trick did NOT "fool" Penn & Teller. They were in on it too as stooges.
Man, you guys are gullible.
(next time you see somebody do this, ask them to let YOU shuffle the cards he has in his hands for the great 'revelation')
:boring2:

RJ, you can probably find this trick and many more at the site below.

Penguin magic used to sell it. Now you can only get it from the inventor himself.

There is definitely not a force used. It is a perfectly smooth deck and the spectator can name any card in the deck.

It does take hours to learn though.

Thanks for all the kind words and I just wanted to make sure the inventor got due credit.

Okay.
If there is no force, no rough and smooth, no takeoff on the old "Brainwave", then the only things left are important 'short cards' or an old, old, method of drawing on the face of cards where a portion is hidden during a spread.
My position is: I got all you want to bet that he will NEVER let you get your hands on those cards and mess with them because of his setup. Walk into a poolroom and try to pull it off. Hah! Those old bums will be all over him like flies on honey.
It's a trick deck....the lamest form of card magic.
I admire his booking agent though.....getting the gig in the first place is the REAL magic.

WOW... really, you mean it was not real voodoo magic at play here :speechless: And the magician won't let you spoil the trick by letting you do "stuff"... good thing you were here to help us all out :p

Sonny boy, if you'd ever seen and known real card workers like Del Rey, Dai Vernon, Frank Garcia, and Eddie Marlo (who used to live on S.Halstead there in your own city) you wouldn't be such a smart aleck.
Trick decks are for losers.
Even worse is being taken out by someone using one.
Repeat...read and learn: His booking agent is fantastic. Getting the gig in the first place is the REAL magic.
Stick to pool, ace, you may know something there. But big time magic and sleight of hand is out of your league. And THAT is a helluva joint.

LOL. I've seen many, so what, I don't care. I like this one because of the pool angle. And yes, everyone knows it a trick, what's the big deal... get a grip.

I'm still shocked someone thought this trick used a "force" and that Penn and Teller would EVER act as stooges for some dude.
