There is hardly nothing new with Makabenta's introduction of BSCP.
This is what we want to know:
1] Who put "Bona Fide" Makabenta, Baranda, Chua, et al into BSCP? Does BSCP have a set of legitimate and legal By-Laws and Constitution registered under the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)?
As far legal documents say, it is BILLIARDS AND SNOOKERS ASSN. INC., co-founded by Edgar Acaba, that is being misrepresented with the name BILLIARDS & SNOOKER CONGRESS OF THE PHILIPPINES. And, if by any legal document, one can relate BSCP with BSAI as one legal entity, the BY-Laws and Constitution of BSAI have grossly been igored since 1987 -- from memberships, to annual elections.
2] Is "Raya Sports" registered under the SEC or under the Department of Trade and Industries? It is important for us to know because BSCP has taken the liberty to partner with this seemingly bogus entity as it cannot be found in both SEC nor DTI search engines.
Furthermore, is there any legal and unbiased opinion that is available (aside from the personal argument) that there is no conflict of interest in being Chairman of a National Sport Association (that uses government funds) and at the same time being President of the so-called "Raya Sports" in a declared accredited partnership?
The defense in this conflict of interest always ends with the claim that "BSCP being a private corporation". Why does it not ever continue with BSCP being a private corporation and an accredited NSA using government funds? Your defense is a half-truth, and half-truths are tantamount to lying.
3] Is the other BSCP affiliate, Philippine Billiard Development Foundation registered under the SEC? Again, the search engines of SEC do not say so. Where does this affiliation come in? Is this a fall-back organization in case your infraction-riddled BSCP gets expelled as an NSA?
4] The eight directors had been listed. Where is the list of members that you claim are by the millions?
Makabenta says that BSCP has the millions of pool fans in the Philippines under it. Is this a claim that the fans of Efren, Alex, Django, Ronnie, Dennis, Lee Van, etc are actually BSCP fans and NOT of these superstars'? This unquantifiable claim that are made again shows how frantic BSCP is in wanting credibility despite its legal existence.
5] About Makabenta's claim of "loving our sport and nurturing it for the enjoyment of players and fans alike", how much has he actually helped the players as Chairman of BSCP? Let's go to the basic unit of the claimed constituents - the player - Has Makabenta ever spent even for one player plane fare? Has he accompanied or assisted any player to get travel visas or licenses? Has he even referred any player to a doctor for medical assistance?
The mere fact that all the players left BSCP is very telling on how Makabenta nurtures and loves the sport because if he was fair and true to his BSCP job, his Raya job wouldn't have difficulty in masquerading true colors.
We welcome any proof of help that Makabenta had extended to any Filipino player.
===========================
If Makabenta will only show us that there is no cause for mentioning the above with facts and scanned documentation, BSCP's credibility problems will be solved because without these basic credentials, BSCP is nothing.
Never mind the P10 Million; the Alex Pagulayan case; the fact that you took a bus in Germany and forgot all about your youth country representative (minor Revo David); the disrespect that World Champion Alcano took in your Qualifiers; the fact that your players go around pool halls trying to cash your post-dated checks... to name a few.
By the way, his qualification as chief speech writer to two Philippine presidents is, in my opinion, the most relevant information that your introduction had lent us. It explains many things about a Makabenta-led BSCP. It is a fact that the Philippines is in the list among the top corrupt countries in the world. We would, for the love of the sport, want to spare billiards -- where all the Filipino stars are loved world-wide (including Alex whom you banned) -- from such reputation.
Yen Makabenta and Raya Sports could really achieve a noble dream of creating a world championship owned by a Filipino. But not in ways where others will have to be wronged to be able to achieve it. Please leave BSCP out of it!
If you cannot understand why the likes of Efren "Bata" Reyes have left you because the reality of it hinders your dreams, please do not protect your dreams by insulting the superstars (who are are apparently loved by everyone except your group) by suggesting that they are stupid enough to be "used" by BMPAP. Number one, they are not stupid. Number two, they, in fact are the BMPAP.
