Make it Happen 1 POCKET!!!!!!!

OK the word on the street is that Accu-Stats will be doing 1 pocket for it's next "Make IT Happen" event.

I know the players will be selected by the people who purchase the whole "Make IT Happen" package but I want to get a line out on what 6 players will be on your ballot or would be on your ballot if you could afford to spend some benjamins.....

My Ballot for 1 hole is as follows:

1) Efren Reyes (I don't think the Philippines will be under water next time so he won't have other things on his mind)

2)Scott Frost (Power 1pocket... need I say more?)

3)Shannon Daulton (No one moves better and just imagine if he practices for at least a whole month... He was evil in Tunica)

4)Justin Hall (I doubt the force continues to be strong with this one but he won the last 1p event)

5)SVB (Shot Maker extraordinaire and he has learned to move.....)

6)Alex (he won the 8ball round robin and if the game involves a cue stick and a ball you cannot count him out)

So how do you see it?

Between Alex P., Sylver Ochoa and Shannon Dualton

Those are my exact top 7... With Alex and Shannon getting the nod over Chris and Sylver...

Shannon moved better than anyone in Tunica... At least on the TV table......

Heh, would personally love a "Banks" Make it Happen, but will still be part of a 1 pocket event, as I was for the 8 ball. I think this "make it happen" format should become a regular event with the previous winner being invited to participate in the next format. Because of that, I have to agree with the top picks but also put Alex in as slot number 6, as the legacy invite. When I think of 1 pocket, I don't really think of Alex, but I like my idea of linking the events together.

I love the participation factor in these events, where you actually feel involved in something that actually matters in the pool world.

IMHO the round robin format is the best way to determine a true champion. As far as I am concerned the crown that Alex wears is every bit as valid as whoever the WPA crowned for 8ball this year.... Thanks to everyone that stepped up to be a part of "making it happen"...

The original world titles were small round robins that grew into larger tournaments. Maybe it is time we pay more attention to the past. 10 foot tables and round robins to me are as good as it gets.......

I'd love to see a Legend in this.....of course we all know Efren is a legend and the rest of those are ones in the making, but I'm thinking along the lines of............

...........Billy Incardona.

Make it happen.

I hadn't heard much from Gabe's play lately. A couple years ago he seemed always mentioned in conversations such as this one.

Efren, Alex, SVB are no brainer desirable, marketable picks.

Frost and Shannon are "next tier" desirable, marketable picks.

Then, IMO, it's wide open with at least a good half dozen good choices.

I got confirmation that the Make it Happen 1pocket Invitational is a go.... No firm dates yet because it will be held around the Expo to cut travel costs for the players.....

SO once again I put it to everyone... Who would you like to see at the tournament... I know the votes come from the package buyers but I think the votes will likely match what ALL of us are thinking.....

My top 12 in no particular order:

Efren Reyes
Shannon Daulton
Shane Van Boening
Scott Frost
Alex Pagulayan
Sylver Ochoa
Justin Hall
Darren Appleton
Chris Gentile
Cliff Joyner
Jose Parica
Francisco Bustemante

I hear there's some Dennis guy that doesn't play too shabby.. last name starts with an O or something. I'm sure somebody here has heard of him.

Heh, would personally love a "Banks" Make it Happen

I think I've got something going on that weekend.. maybe next year. :embarrassed2:

LOL damnit banks..... Now I need a bakers dozen....

Ha! I knew I should've saved that one for when the lists were getting serious. :grin-devilish:

How about a couple of others that could take it down..

Brumback(!!!)
Shuff

I can't imagine anybody going into a match with either of those really looking forward to it odds-wise. You guys are slackin off.. :p

PS - Did I mention Brumback?

I guess we should never count out the "Wedge" himself... Just don't know if Nick is up for a long tournament...

I know a bunch of old timers that still send everything up table and enjoy the game played that way......

I will be tuning in....

Lion
Magician
Freezer
Cannon
South Dakota Kid
Leader of Invasion
Prince of Pool

sleeper picks we can't forget about cliff, ike, gentile....

A friend of mine just reminded me that we really shouldn't discount Jeremy Jones when we are talking about American 1pocket players... This may get tougher on the voting than I ever figured.......
