Making a Retraction..

For the life of me I can't find the stupid thread, but I responded to one of Colin Colenso's posts..

The thread turned into a discussion about making a spot shot (from the kitchen) and drawing the cue ball back past the side pocket.. Presumably one rail with low outside.

I wrote on there I didn't have alot of time to try it but got it in the side on my second try so it couldn't be all that difficult? Well what I did originally was (since I only had a second and didn't have an hour to sit there trying to dial in my stroke etc..) was to put the cue ball inline (but outside of the kitchen) with where I'd thought I'd have to put it in the kitchen. (Assuming it's going to be slightly off the rail so you could get draw)..

I'm thinking I must've accidentally cheated that angle a bit or something becuase I went and tried to make the shot last night.. I'm pretty well convinced there's nobody on the planet that could do that from the kitchen. (Again using a figure of speech..) I do think the table will play quite a bit into the shot (seems like it's a little harder to draw a ball on newer simonis then it is on Brunswick champion or others)

Even when I exited the kitchen and cheated the angle a bit it was tough.. Now I realize I'm not the worlds greatest player, but believe me I have absolutely no problem putting "juice" on a cueball, but damn.. I dunno. I don't think I could do it if you paid me a million dollars and gave me a week trying.

I've seen Coy Lee do it on a barbox.

Cheers,

I tried this shot with Alex Pagulayan, and I could draw just past the side pocket, and he was hitting the diamond above the side.. I was like... "whoa".
