Can anyone tell me if this is a real mali or not? It has no mali logo, but there is a M in the middle of the circle on the rubber bumper. I bought it as a mali r2, and found a pic of it in the 1st edition blue book, then sold it as such, and now the buyer says it is'nt a mali. I also know there is a 4 prong type splice under the wrap cause i had another just like it that i had a leather wrap put on. Looked to be a quality cue. I appreciate any help. Thanks.

Evening DaNutz,

I have played Malis since 1984. I have 3 at the house right now. I have NEVER seen a Mali with an M on the bumper. None of mine have ever had any marking there. The only markings I have ever seen is Mali on the butt. Different colored logos represented different years. Green, Gold, Silver, Black. There was also a series that said Mali Cues by Cuesport. Never seen an un-named Mali bud :(

The ringwork looks like one of my Show Malis from the early 90's. However, mine were not metal like those appear to be. Mine were Maple rings. Wish I could tell you more.

You may have better luck posting this in the cue gallery.Manwon and others are amazing at defining different makes of cues.

Thanks for the imput Roy. I too thought that all mali's were marked as such. Could be tho that the logo was sanded off. I'm looking for another way to id it other than the logo.
I would'nt think it would be worth it to copy a low end cue such as a mali, but who knows. I was hoping maybe someone recognized the triangle with the circle inside it, and the M inside the circle, that's on the inner part of the bumper. The joint dia. is .865 also, larger than my joss for instance that measures .840.

Yeah, it's a Mali.
I had a few of that model.
I lived near where they were made.
I had tons of them go through my hands.

Nice cue.

Enjoy.

Thanks Bogey, i appreciate it. The cue hits really good, i was thinking it was a mali, and if not, maybe worth even more. I know it looks to be better built than a joss when the wraps off. A guy selling a marked one on ebay verified the markings on the bumper as well, he said his has the same thing. The only thing that i really don't like about it is how the joint does'nt match up with my ob shaft. Oh well, lol. Thanks for the help guys, keep hittin em. We'll bring this sport back to where it should be yet:)
