Mali cue question

I just purchased an older Mali cue from Joe (Bamacues), for a heckuva price mind you :D , but I have a question that hopefully someone on here can answer. I used to own a Mali cue way back in high school (late 80's) that had MALI in green on the buttcap. The one I bought from Joe has a gold oval with Mali cues written in it (also in gold). Which came first, the green MALI logo or the gold one? Just wondering about what timeframe the one I just bought was from. I have a buddy that'll probably know, but won't see him for a couple of weeks, so it's up to one of you's guys ;) . Thanks!!!

I am pretty sure

the green came before the gold. The green was around in the late 60's, 70's, and the gold showed up about the latter part of the 70's, or early 80's.

Here a couple of Mali facts I bet you didn't know:

The Mali company has been in business since 1826, 19 years before Brunswick started. Mali is the world's largest distributor of Simonis cloth.

And the reason I know this is because I was researching the Pool table my brother bought himself for Xmas, and 8 foot
Fischer table (made by C.L. Bailey and Co.), Alicante style, and it has a tan Mali cloth on it, so when I went to the Mali site to check on exactly the composition of the cloth, I found out these lil tidbits about Mali.

there were different mali logos.
the first was a green logo that was boxed in,and it was sideways.
then the green logo, then the same style logo but different color.this was in the late 80's.mine was bought around 89 or 90.then the gold logo.

thanks guys. I bought my green logoed Mali in 87 or 88??? Sold it not all that long after that (stopped playing pretty much all together). When I saw Bama's post in the FOR SALE section, I figured, what the heck.....

I have never seen the gold logoed ones, so I had to see if someone here knew....(and of course, there was/is - thanks) As far as the Mali facts, I did read a bit about the company while searching online to find out about the logos. The first Mali - came from Simonis - to start his company. Lots of interesting facts on how the company was passed down through the years - lotsa Simonis ties. I was surprised.

Thanks again for the responses :)
