I was browsing through the wanted/for sale section of the forum when I saw in someone's signature that they use a 314 shaft on their playing cue. At that point it hit me. I realized that the reason they called it a 314 is because of the "pie" shaped sections...lol. Pie ~ Pi ~ 3.1415926535897932384626433832795 commonly expressed as 3.14 = Predator 314.

It sure does suck when your epiphany is that you're a moron!

:D I hear you RZ. Just dawned on me about a month ago. I do feel a little better now knowing I wasn't the last one.
 
My wife usually cuts her pie's into six pieces, but we don't have a pool. So I guess if we get any predators in the back yard I guess I'll have to shoot them cause they won't drown.

You...are just WRONG! I laughed so hard at this that my sides both hurt now. Thank you for seeing things like I see them...

BTW...I have friends who own "314's" and they still don't know why it's named that!
 
I heard that they went through 313 variations on the shaft before they finally got the one that ended up going into production.

Nope, I heard elsewhere that it was because of the value of Pi.
It never occured to me to even wonder about it before I saw the explanation of where it came from.

Well Ctatyk, if you would slow down and control your breaking, your sides wouldn't be hurting from that seat belt and you wouldn't be seeing things funny from your head hitting the steering wheel.

I'll have to agree that she's beautiful.
That being said...I'll skip saying it anymore as I don't want to sound like some old perv. I'm a young freak/perv thank you very much.

I'd have NEVER known about the 314 thing if it weren't for the fact that I'm an accountant by education and everything comes down to math. Not to mention that I've always found jokes about Pi to be quite funny.
 
314 as pi would never had occurred to me - its (imo) a disgusting approximation of something that need not be approximated. just write the little symble instead :)
