Finished one of those long matches last night, actually this morning. The one thing I took away from it, I'm getting too old for these type of matches. I probably have 20 plus years on the guy I was playing.
Jay, the guy running the pool hall, finally called at 5:00 am this morning. I started playing about 4:00 pm. When it was over, I was up 4 sets.
Now, the interesting part, when it was over the young man I was playing said he didn't have the money to pay. The only other thing he said was that's why I kept playing. The only thing I could say is: WHAT? So, I gave Jay 1/2 the time and drove the young man to his house. He came back out in less than 5 minutes with the money to cover me. I sure hope he makes it back up to the pool hall today and pays Jay.
