Hi all. Have any of the cuemakers here ever used Marblewood? Is there any extra care that should be taken using it? Does it have a nice hit used as forearm/handle?

thanks,
Kelly

This kind of marblewood?
It checks on dry weather. Needs a good sealer or soaking on nelsonite.
It's hard and the dust from it is pretty toxic.
I know one maker who got sick from it.

Hey Joey. Yes that kind of Marblewood. I remembered a picture or two of some you posted before, so I knew you had worked with it some. I completely waxed the 2 squares I have. It is pretty, but by the texture of it, I bet it is prone to checking...

Yes, it doesn't cut nicely either.
You really have to be careful in cutting it.
Kinda like the harder version of Zebrawood.

Thanks for the info Joey. Zebrawood was exactly what I thought of handling it.
