Marie's Golden Cue Chicago

I was there a few times in the mid 80's. Very nice room.
I'm prety sure this was the room that held a tournament were I met Pat Fleming selling a subscription to his accu-stats new letter. I remember him sitting behind a small personal computer when those types of computers were rare. I remember Dallas West and Willie Munson being there.

I saw Mark Jarvis as a kid, beat Steve Mizerak during his prime in match play there. George Michaels and Tommy Spencer and Joey Golds stomping grounds.

i remember you coming in robbing one of the local champions (can't recall if it was Ledford, Weir) playing 9B back in the 70's. i had just finished playing a road player minutes before your session started.

You REALLY played GREAT!!

did you ever visit SWANK billiards on Roosevelt rd in Glen Ellen in the 60's?

Michaels, Spencer and Joey played strong, Joey was/is a real bright guy who had some real good stories, esp with regards to Freddie the "BANKER"

MARIE'S was a special place

Does anybody know when they opened?

So sad when I heard about this place closing. It was a true old-school gem of a pool hall. Wish I had heard about it closing sooner, as I would have attended the closing event. Does anyone know what they plan to do with all those old tables and equipment?
