I was gifted with a set of Aramith 2 1/4 snooker balls. It is a complete set, (6) color balls and (15) reds. I have a (4 1/2 x 9) pool table.

How do I determine where to mark the table to properly place the color balls and the rack of reds with respect to the (4 1/2 X 9) dimensions?

Don't do it!
Snooker on a 4 1/2 x 9 with bucket pockets will be embarrassingly easy and cannot approach the satisfaction of achieving a good run of points on a proper snooker table.

I think it would be like playing 9ball, 8ball, etc. on a 4 1/2 x 9 with 9" pockets

The ratios for marking a table:

The D is 1/3 the width of the table

The D is located 1/5 of the length of the table from the baulk end rail

The Pink is located 1/4 the length of the table from the black rail

The Black is located 1/6 the length of the table from the black rail

A 9 ft pool table has a playing surface 100" by 50".

You obviously aren't a pool player, they flunked fractions and can't add points.b:grin:

What you get on a pool table is traffic problems.
After you get rid of 14 reds, you have a rack of 9-ball left.

Saramouche,

Thank you for the "Intelligent" information.

As I mentioned in my posting, I received the 2 1/4 snooker balls as a gift. I realize that playing snooker on a (4 1/2 X 9) pool table is not as challenging as playing on a proper table.

However, at least I'll have a chance at scoring a century brake or two.

Saramouche, (1952) Great movie, Stewart Granger at his very best.
