"Squirrel" says he wants to play some one-pocket! He says he'll play anyone over 75 years old. (He is 78, born February 9, 1928).

Where is he?

RC

Ask Squirrel if he remembers "Ugly Dave" from Nashville. I worked for Dave and he told me lots of stories of running around with Squirrel back in the Johnson City days.

Matt, "Squirrel" remembers your friend "Ugly Dave" from one of the pool rooms in Nashville. He also remembers him running around more with another friend of his by the name of Walter "Nubby" Archie, who he still keeps in touch with. Squirrel hasn't seen or heard from "Ugly Dave" since he left Nashville in the late 1960's. Is he still in Nashville?

Thanks again for your interest!

Jon

"Squirrel" is glad to hear that "Ugly Dave" is still alive and kicking! A lot of the characters from the past are not.

He would like to add to the original post that, should there be any aspiring one-pocket players (young, old and "in between) that would like to learn more about the game, he is willing to "match-up" a fair game. He is from the "old school" and of the belief that the best and fastest way to learn is to match-up against a better, more experienced player. It was 1949-1950 in Washington, D.C. that he matched-up with "Rags" Fitzpatrick(the best all-around player in the world at the time). They played for $50.00/game for a month. "Rags" started out giving him 8-5, then 9-6, 10-7 and by the end of the month 9-7.

I am older than him physically and he refused to play me even

Squirrel

How old is Squirrel? If he was 25 in 1961, then he'd be approximately 70 today. He's still playin' good!

Hey Doc, dont know if im going yet. Im going to try.

About Bunny, if he was playing someone in a comedy he would surely be giving them weight. I have never laughed so hard. He kept us going the whole time in DCC.
Heres a story he told us...
He was playing A guy in A bar one time for 5$ a game, when the rail started to bet him 50 bucks a game. He said after about the 4th game he looked in the guys wallet and noticed the guy only had 1 game left (5 dollars) The guy handed Pots 5 bucks for the game. Pots give him a 20 in return. The guy told pots and pans that there has been a mistake. He said No sir, I think you are miskaken.
You had to hear him tell the story. You would fall out of your chair.
