Masse cue

What makes a good masse cue. I have a custom made low deflection player with OB Classic shaft. I will always carry this cue. Also a jump break cue. I am a little afraid to do masse shots with my player. I do not want to carry a three butts. Should I get another shaft designed for masse to use on my player? Any suggestions?

I shoot masse shots with whatever is in my hand

weight & stiffness. a very heavy butt with a shortened (carom or conical) shaft & a strong ferrule will do the job. Elkmaster tip.

Longoni sells top notch composite masse shafts : FC47 profile in Woodcomp material . 14.2mm diameter at the tip (the ferrule is special masse, super strong) :

Buy a cheap Longoni carom butt, the weight kit, then add the maximum. order a FC47 woodcomp material, and hop, you got a high end masse cue.

i disagree most of the masse cues that the pro trick shot players use are light most 17 or under a little . The trick is in the the build, not the weight
