Match with John

Who fell out of the chair and how? Is he or she ok?

Rob.M

That was my backer, Mike. The ring side chairs along the right side of the table were on a little raised platform. He momentarily forgot about it and when he pushed his chair back to get up he tipped back. Fortunately the chair was well padded and he was OK.

Lou,

I never got an answer... Wanna throw some of that money into a game with me? I'll need a bit of weight, as I am not as good as you, but I like to gamble!!

I think Lou needs to give you 18-4 and ya'll play for a custom JB case. ;)

Maybe 30 seconds more and John is in an ambulance

I think your backer fell out of his chair attempting to triangulate between JB and any possible way Eric could enter the room.
The backer figured he might have to tackle Eric first and ask questions later, anything to keep the 20K in play.

I do want to say, mostly to remind myself, that I do have a story I've never written but would like to. Working title: "Laura and the UFO" about an incident I personally experienced late one night in the hinterlands of Montana in the early 80's.

Lou Figueroa
Lou how long were you abducted for? And what do you remember?
Was the Greatful Dead in town.

I actually didn't see what happen to get Eric thrown out so I have absolutely nothing first hand on this and can't say for certain what happen. What I was told was that he was using a camera to take pictures or maybe video of John shooting and John complained that it was sharking him and Eric got the boot. I'm sure the woofing incident about an hour before the match started also played into it.

That, I did see. John was warming up on a table in the main room and kept woofing at Eric, who was a few tables away, to, “Play a quick race to five for a thousand.” And Eric basically told him to go… fornicate himself. But John wouldn’t shut up and kept chirping until Eric took off his glasses, walked up to John’s table, took a pool ball into his fist, and warned John to shut up or he would need dental work. John took up a pool ball too and they were literally nose-to-nose when Ed came running out of the booth to separate them. Maybe 30 seconds more and John is in an ambulance.

I would love to add to this a bit more Lou, as I was in the middle of Eric and John for this argument, and it was actually me who went over and helped them separate.

These two obviously had some bad blood between them already.

It started when I said to the guy who Eric was shooting with "I can't wait to see this match". Eric heard me and replied to me (and towards John) "it's going to be an old fashioned goat roping" John replied "yeah but it won't be the person you think getting roped". THEN John started asking Eric to play a race for a thousand before your match. John did state that challenge multiple times, and finally Eric replied, "what I would like to do John is knock your teeth out". John said "oh, now you want to beat me up? ". Eric said "yeah I'd like to" and John said "yeah, come on" and Eric grabbed a pool ball from his table and walked over to John. Eric took off his glasses. John picked up a pool ball as well. They stood there for a few seconds nose to nose, and all I could think was that I didn't want anything to stop this match from happening! I saw my hour+ drive and hope for a promised side bet with JB (which he bailed on) going by the wayside. I walked up to both of them and said "Come on guys. We have a big match about to happen. Don't let it get ruined". And that was enough. They separated and Eric walked back to his table, but as he walked away he threw the pool ball over his shoulder onto Johns table.

One can only hope that they settle their issues as nicely as the two of you have. On the pool table.

Lol. JB doesn't want any part of Eric in a fight. But, what do I know. Perhaps John has been studying ninjutsu and Tae kwon do in between sessions of CTE and Pro1. Perhaps he is a professional stick fighter as well.

He was definitely angling for a fight. This way, he could have walked away with his money in hand, and would have a claim for not playing. He and Eric have a past. He stirred the pot. It's nearly come to blows more than a few times. Jamison referred to JB as being quite intelligent. He probably took a shot at getting out with minor damage, as someone would have broken up the fight, and he'd have reason to collect his $3k he posted.

I'd have thrown him out just for throwing a ball.

This might be the dumbest post in this whole thread.

Right. Because you were one of the guys that actually thought John could win. I'm going on past history. You've been following JB for a couple of years. A few of us have known him for over a decade. He's tried this move before. Go ask Jimbo. Or Eric.

What move?

I drove through a blizzard to play Jim. I asked Eric to play three times in the past two years.

It is funny to see you going off here. I think you are more bothered than anyone.

Got some issues you need to work out I think. Speaking of integrity I guess you saying we were good was not true. Well for my part of it I hold no grudge towards you.

Hope you find some peace buddy.

I'm at peace, John. It comes from telling the truth. And honouring my word. One day, you may get there. Just not today, I guess.
