How nice would it be to see someone like Max win the world 14.1 championships. All these other guys with 9 ball tournys all the time, I would like to see Max give them a lesson in another game.!

Hopefully not...

After 2 full days of watching him play, I have to say his pace of play is absolutely ridiculous. You would need a sundial in order to put him on the shot clock. If this event used a shot clock like the last U.S. Open 14.1, I would expect his record would be less than stellar IMO.

He may be a nice guy and all, but cmon. This is the type of play that has killed 14.1. Two of the matches in particular, (against Ortmann and Barouty, who are both quick players) he used between 1.5 - 3 minutes between almost every shot. His match against Harriman wasn't much better.

With all due respect to Max, he's got to get by Thorsten first. 14.1 is a game where any top player can win at anytime but the 174 run I saw yesterday was technically the greatest run I've ever seen. For my money Thorsten is the #1 14.1 player in the world. Good luck to all!

Tap Tap Tap! As much as I like Max's game and the kind of guy he is off the table I wouldn't wager my money on him against Thorsten, an all German finals is a possibility which shouldn't surprise anyone at all.

I agree

If it comes down to a Thorsten vs. Engert match for the finals, that would be fantastic. They were both very strong through the whole tournament. This would be one of those matches where the lag may be your only time at the table.
