McDaniel butt cap material

I have a cuemaker buddy who would like to know what Bill McDaniel used to make his butt caps. Obviously not ivory or delrin. It is an ivory colored off white material, but has no grain or linen material look to it. Thanks a bunch.

He did use Delrin on all his old veneer cues.
